Terrell Hills

The prestigious Terrell Hills is located in Bexar County in Texas, which is only five miles northeast of downtown San Antonio. It is between San Antonio and the U.S. Army post of Fort Sam Houston making it a very convenient area for military service members to live. Other surrounding neighborhoods include Alamo Heights, Olmos Park and Fort Sam Houston. Terrell Hills is an affluent area and is home to residents with old money. The area of Terrell Hills is fairly small covering only about 1.7 square miles and is home to a little over 5,000 people. The area was named after Dr. Frederick Terrell who was a local bank president that served as mayor in 1901 of San Antonio and who sold the property now known as Terrell Hills to the "Terrell Hills Community." Most residents of Terrell Hills are in the Alamo Heights Independent School district but some go to North East Independent School District.
